There are many ways that people can make some money online. Most accepted ways to earn money on Internet is by buying and selling the domain names. Domain names are low-priced and give a very low risk of investment when in comparison to other types of investments on Internet. When you invest in domain names you have got something to show for it.

The most horrible thing that can occur is you buy a domain name, which can’t be sold. But, that is very uncommon to occur because people place the value in efforts made towards mounting it.

Domain names are inexpensive and if efforts to sell the domain name for upright income fail, then one can always draw back on selling domain for an original purchase price.

A key to find achievement in buying and selling the domain names comes from learning proper strategy and plans in the trade. If you have awareness in the business of buying and selling the domain names, you will need to invest time and money in educating yourself.

What makes good domain name?

A suffix is most important thing like .COM, .ORG, and .NET are by far most popular one. Other different domains such as .WS, .FM, .TV, are becoming increasingly popular, since they are wide open. For instance, where you cannot get DW.com but you can still acquire DW.ws. For now, I will go with .COM since they are the easiest to sell.

Would any Webmaster or business would want it?

Ask manually that question, if you cannot right away say “Yes!” don’t buy it. Keep in mind it is unlawful to register the business name or a trademark, which you do not possess. This is said “cyber-squatting” and strong laws are now in position to guard against this.

Shorter the domain name better. These are most brilliant and simplest to market. At time of writing this, there are about thousand three character of domain names left.

Tips When Buying a Domain Name

Stay Anonymous

When buying a domain name, it is necessary to stay anonymous as you can all the way keep the cost as low as possible. The domain names will not have set prices, and so the price of the domain name arrives entirely from debates between the buyer and the seller.

Don’t reveal that you are setting a website.

If the domain name individual knows that you are intending to develop a site, specially a marketable website, price of your domain name will go high, and you will finish up paying extra to the market value for the domain name.

Never reveal your name and personal information.

It is very easy for somebody to learn plenty of information about you and your financial situation on Internet. So, it will be a very good thought to make another web based email address to carry out your discussions.

Conclusion

As you can observe, buying and selling domain name is a very good way to make money. It is very simple and you can routinely accomplish it in your extra time. Sign up with Ebay.com or Afternic.com and start selling! All The Best!

Selecting a domain name can be a bit overwhelming since domain registrars often offer far more services than just domain names. Many offer “hosting” as well, so it helps to understand the relationship between domain names and hosting. Domain names and hosting are two completely separate products, but in the effort to sell the products together, domain registrars often just confuse people.

When you purchase Web site hosting, you are basically renting a folder on a computer (called a Web server) that is connected to the Internet. You pay a company a monthly or yearly fee to keep your Web site files online and safe from hackers and other online “bad guys.” Although technically, you might be able to host a site yourself, the $10 or $20 a month you spend on hosting is money well spent. Keeping a Web server alive and well is not a trivial exercise, so leave this task to the techies who like that kind of thing.

It is important to understand the relationship between Web site hosting and domain names. A domain name basically points to a specific folder on a specific Web server. You can buy a domain name without buying hosting. Many people buy domain names long before they get around to creating a Web site. As soon as you think of a good name, spend the $8 and just buy the domain, so someone else doesn’t get it.

Until you put up a site, the domain name points to a “parked page.” This page is created by the domain registrar as a sort of holding spot until you buy hosting and get your site online. The parked page lets other people know that the domain isn’t available anymore. After you develop a site, get hosting, and put your Web site files in your folder on the Web server, you change your domain to point to the site.

Note that you also can point more than one domain to the same Web site. If you decide to do this, you do not need to buy more hosting. Here are some questions to ask before you buy additional hosting.

1. Do you want another Web site? (A completely different site with different files.) In that case, you would have two different URLs for two completely different sites. They have two different domains, are located in different folders, and are made up of completely different files.

2. Do you want another domain name to point to the site you already have? In this case, you buy another domain and point the URL to the site you already have set up. It is one folder with one set of files, yet two domains point to it.

If the answer to the question is 2, you do not need to purchase another hosting account. The files are already there in the folder. Generally, your hosting company should not charge you to point another domain to the same site. Hosting companies don’t care how many domains you have pointing at a site. However, they do care if you have more than one Web site and will charge you accordingly.

A domain name is a name that identifies a computer on the net. This is the definition that we are concerned with as an online marketer. Technically domain name also implies many other relates meanings but we would not consider them for a while.

Hostname or web address are more common terms used for domain names. Domain names provide more rememberable names to stand in for numeric IP address. It is because of domain names that you are able to remember the names of websites which are actually represented by numbers.

(It is easier to remember someexample.com instead of 132.173.0.654.)

The flexibility of the domain name system allows multiple IP addresses to be assigned to a single domain name, or multiple domain names to be assigned to a single IP address.

Domain names are different from URLs. Let us take an example to differentiate between domain name and a universal resource locator

URL: http://yourdomain.com

Domain name: yourdomain.com

In this example the domain name has two parts yourdomain and .com.
.com is called top level domain (TLD) and yourdomain would be called second level domain. Similarly if you make a further subdomain and name it somename then the address to that would become somename.yourdomain.com.

In such situations somename would be called third level domain. You can create any number of domains on a TLD without any restriction. Domains of third and higher levels are commonly called subdomains.

You must have seen many kinds of TLDs when surfing the web.
.com is most commonly used top level domain. Others which are commonly used are .org, .biz, .net etc. There are many others TLDs which are permissible by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.) which looks after the work of assignment of domain names and IP addresses.

Currently this list includes following TLDs-

* .aero: Reserved for the global aviation community. Sponsored by Societe Internationale de Telecommunications Aeronautiques SC (SITA)

* .asia: Reserved for the Pan-Asia and Asia Pacific region. sponsored by DotAsia Organisation

* .biz: Restricted to businesses, operated by NeuLevel

* .cat: Reserved for the Catalan linguistic and cultural community, sponsored by Fundació puntCat.

* .com : Operated by Verisign Global Registry Services

* .coop : Reserved for cooperatives. Sponsored by Dot Cooperation LLC.

* .info: Operated by Afilias Limited

* .jobs: Reserved for the human resource management community. Sponsored by EmployMedia LLC,operated by Afilias Limited

* .mobi: Reserved for consumers and providers of mobile products and services sponsored by mTLD Top Level Domain, Ltd.

* .museum : Restricted to museums and related persons. sponsored by the Museum Domain Management Association (MuseDoma)

* .name: Restricted to individuals. Operated by Global Name Registry.

* .net: Operated by Verisign Global Registry Services.

* .org: Operated by Public Interest Registry

* .pro: Restricted to licensed professionals. Operated by RegistryPro

* .travel: Reserved for entities whose primary area of activity is in the travel industry. Sponsored by Tralliance Corporation.

But that is not all. Apart from these TLDs which are called generic TLDs and are under direct control of ICANN, there are many country code TLDs or ccTLDs which are country or region specific. Thus .us is for USA and .uk is for UK.

Buying and selling domain names will remain the most lucrative entry point in an online businesses. It is an income stream that should not be ignored by all and sundry.

I have been asked time and time again by my readers of how best to buy and sell domain names profitably and without stress. In my no-holds-barred research approach and attitude, I earnestly went to work on that assignment. My findings have been serialized in this article for the benefit of all.

What is a Domain Name?

Domain name is an online unique identity that distinguishes one web site from another. It could be your personal name, your offline business name or any other name that has not been registered by somebody else online with domain registrars.

Buying and selling domain name is a serious and big business. The good tiding is that you can start with as little as $8.00 and rake in profit of say, $1,992.00 within a month. That is the naked truth! All you need to excel in this domain name business is a bit of your creativity and ingenuity. Your creativity can out perform any known robot or software so far developed. This is because as you check for domain name availability on the Internet, other names naturally come up as you are told the one you want to register has been taken up. In my experience, I have found out that premium and generic names sell fastest and highest on the internet. This is so because business people are desirous of either protecting their brand names or want a name that will easily ring a bell to any internet user. Therefore, they can go to any length to ensure that they repurchase their names if it has been registered before they do. This is where the money juice lies! It becomes a matter of bidding. As the saying goes: “The highest bidder wins the deal.”

If you are low in capital to jump-start your dream business, the cheapest and easiest place to start and earn a reasonable seed capital is in Domain Name Business. Also if you ask me for an excellent resource/e-book that succinctly outlined the basics of domain name selling in easy steps please email me for recommendation for your financial freedom.

Heard of Domain Parking?

Do you know you can register a domain name and be earning money without hosting it? To this end, you won’t be tied to any monthly fee whatsoever. You earn revenue from one-time investment of buying a domain name throughout the year. It is as sweet as that! The simple thing to do is just to park that registered domain name with a parking company and voila, you start earning cool bucks.

Domain parking means registering a domain name and pointing it to a “parking company” (at no cost of course) so that your site will show a page with adverts when any internet user searches key words or key phrases that relate to your site adverts. When someone clicks on those adverts you earn money. That is domain parking, pure and simple! It is akin to putting google adsense adverts on your site. However, parking is simpler since you do not need to worry about designing a website nor pay monthly web site hosting fees. Truly, online business ideas are limitless. Domain parking is really domain “monetization” business.

Marketing and Profiting from Domain Name

If you are in the camp of “buying and selling domain names”, what you should do is buy popular, premium, generic or key words or key phrases that will be easy to remember and market. People are always enthralled with unique names. There are whole gamuts of a combination of key words that have not been registered. Market them and profit from it. It is your business! But beware: You cannot run this business and excel with naivety. That is why I am recommending a great resource that I can cross my heart for to you when you reach me on email as a quick start.

Take action, become a domainer and add it to one of your income streams. It is a win-win deal!

You will excel!

Choosing a good domain name is one of most important steps in setting up your online business, but it’s getting harder and harder to find good names that are still available. You could use a domain name with hyphens, but is that really a good idea?

Let’s quickly review what makes a good domain name. A domain name needs to be relevant, easy to remember, keyword optimized, and free from trademark conflicts. It should also be shorter. Although seven characters or less is ideal, you may have to settle for a domain name that’s a little longer.

So you’ve just set up your new barbecue grills business and now you discover that barbecuegrills.com is already taken. Should you consider hyphenating the domain name to barbecue-grills.com or should you go back to the drawing board?

The first choice should always be to take the name without a hyphen. Having established that, there are some exceptions. Let’s look at hyphenated domain names and when they are might be good to use.

Domains with hyphens can sometimes be a good idea if you really want certain words in your domain name but all the domains without hyphens are already taken.

Another reason to use a hyphen is when the words you plan to use are harder to read without the hyphen. The domain hotellamps.com is harder to read than hotel-lamps.com. That is not necessarily a great domain name but it does serve to illustrate the point that some domains are easier to read with a hyphen.

You might also consider using hyphens for search engine optimization. Some people suggest that using hyphens helps the search engines to distinguish your keywords better. This may be a good option for webmasters whose primary goal is to optimize their sites for traffic from natural search engine rankings. The only catch here is that this could change over time since search engines are constantly adjusting their search algorithms.

Incidentally, if you decide not to use hyphens in your domain name, watch out for any unintended double meanings that might be embarrassing. To illustrate this point a couple of fairly suspicious domain names are therapistfinder.com and molestationnursery.com. In case you are wondering the latter was reportedly the domain for the Mole Station Native Nursery based in New South Wales, Australia, although it seems, fortunately, to have moved.

Whatever reason you have for using a hyphen in your domain name, it would be good to remember one thing. Some people will forget the hyphen when they type your domain name. So whenever you invest in promoting your site, some lucky webmaster who owns the un-hyphenated version of your domain is going to get some free traffic, courtesy of your hard work.

As you can see, there are some situations when using a hyphen in your domain name may be a good decision.

What are you willing to do to ensure your website's success? It does not ask too much from you all it asks for is a domain name! Why is domain name important to your site? Having a domain name is beneficial both to the website or online business owners and the online customers.

Is there really a need to provide your website or online business a domain name? What difference will a domain name do to your website or online business? Domain name or the unique name that you chose for your website or online business – independent of ISP – is beneficial to webmasters, website owners, online business owners, online customers and online users. Domain names are significant in many ways. Listed here are some of the basic benefits of having a domain name.

Benefits of Domain Name

o	Domain Name Allows You To Change Web Host or ISP Without Having To Change The Name.

It will be easier to change to a different web host or ISP if your website or online business owns a domain name. If ever you find a better web host than the one your site is using right now, you can easily transfer to it without the burden of having to change the name again. There will be nothing to hold you back from moving on towards a different web host since the name will remain the same.

In short, domain names are portable – you can literally carry it anywhere you want or in varied web hosts as you please. Now no one can hold you back from changing web hosts and ISPs. You won’t be tied up to your old web host or ISP again!

o	Domain Names Provide Identity for Your Online Business.

Giving your website or your online business a domain name is actually giving it its own identity. Owning a domain name for your website or online business builds the credibility and image of the business. Even for the regular online users, visiting a site through its domain name is definitely better than visiting it through a free site with such a long name!

o	Domain Names Give Your Site An Edge in Search Engines Submission

There are some search engines that do not accept submissions from a website with no domain name – meaning the ones hosted by a free site. Lucky if you find a good number of search engines that will accept your submission.

o	Domain Names Make It Easy For Your Customers To Remember Your Company.

More often than not, it will be a whole lot easier for your customers to remember your company or online business if it has a domain name. Moreover, it will be easier for them to visit your website using a domain name. Having a domain name will be beneficial not only to you as a webmaster but to your customers and the general online users as well.

Domain names are essential for your website or online business in terms of identity, image, credibility, portability and search engine submission. But the benefits do not stop there. Giving your website a domain name also helps your customers.

Domain name registration is a thriving business on the Internet today. While most search engine algorithms value keywords in the domain, the importance of domain names is generally overrated for the success of a website in the search engines, especially in the long run.

The Registration of domain names is a thriving business on the Internet today – this is evident by the high bids that companies are willing to pay in Per-Per-Click (PPC) engines to attract potential customers for domain name registration.

The business of domain name registration is sometimes referred to as “Internet Real Estate”. Just like we can occupy high traffic areas in the central business districts of major cities in the real world, we can register domains for commonly used words or sought after keywords to generate traffic more easily to our websites. While most common words and abbreviations have already been taken for the most widely used top level domain names, with a little bit of creativity we can still register an endless number of promising domain names.

While there is no clear indication to what extent .com, .net as well as country top level domain names such as .co.uk, .de, .fr and so forth influence search engine rankings of websites, the word is that .org domains are still favored by Google as part of the non-commercial tradition.

However, this article is not looking at how the domain extension influences the ranking of a website as this is thought to be insignificant for search engine rankings. A stronger influence on search engine rankings have indeed the length of registration, frequency of DNS changes as well as the reputation of the registrar.

Even though sometimes overrated in its importance – especially in relationship to its effect on search engine rankings, domain names do remain an important asset for the online corporate identity of your business.

The main consideration concerning your domain name will be to choose between a creative name (such as “yahoo”, “alibaba”, “kazaa”) or a keyword name (such as “study-tourism”, “retail-gifts” or “hawaii-mortgage-company”. In fact using main keywords in your domain name does have a positive effect on your search engine rankings, especially to get your rankings off the ground after launching a new website. Down the road the effect however becomes almost negligible.

While many people tend to register numerous domain names to accommodate most important key words within them, they overlook that Google and other major search engines will pay almost the same attention to sub-domains. So instead of registering “hawaii-real-estate”, “florida-real-estate” and so forth, we might as well just register “real-estate” and have sub domains such as “hawaii.real-estate”, “florida.real-estate” and so forth.

What people further underestimate is that search engines in general look for keywords in the URL (unique resource locator) which comprises of the top level domain, any potential sub-domains and of course the file name. So, if you happen to be using a creative domain name that does not contain any important key words, you can of course include your main keywords in the file name of the webpage itself, i.e. florida-real-estate.html.

Hence, in a nutshell, while domain names are a major asset for your corporate identity, their significance for search engine rankings is overrated, as there are various ways to accommodate significant keywords in the URL and eventually other onsite factors (coding techniques, content) of a website will have a greater impact for search engine rankings.

So You Finally Decided you want your very own Home on the World Wide Web. Many people use Free Services like Geocities or AngelFire for their first home on the Internet. Other Jump in and Get their very own domain and then Set up a Hosting account.

So you finally decided you want your very own home on the World Wide Web. Many people use free services like Geocities or AngelFire for their first home on the Internet. Others jump in and get their very own domain and then set up a hosting account.

Here is a very simple 3 step process to find that perfect domain name using some free online tools

Step 1 Decide on a Theme.

It is very important that you decide on a Theme for your web page. Once you decide on a theme you should pick a Name that works well with your Theme. If your theme is about Pets you wouldn’t want your Domain Name to be All-About-Plants. For this example we will choose Debt Reduction and Bill consolidation as our theme

Step 2 Find a Domain Name

Most Internet Guru’s recommend that you get a ‘.com’ for your Domain. It is also best to choose a Domain with Keywords that are Popular for your Theme. Again if your domain is about Pets you probably wouldn’t want plants as part of your Domain Name unless you are Selling a Vegetarian Pet Cook Book.

If You already have a Domain name in Mind then you can skip to step 3 to see if your Domain is available. If Not keep reading step 2 for helpful hints on finding that Perfect domain Name

If you do not have a Domain Name yet and if you are at a Loss at what name to use don’t despair their are a few free online tools you can use. If your web site theme is Debt Reduction and Bill consolidation then you would probably want a Domain Name with one or more of those words in it. If you need help finding Keywords to include in your Domain Name here is a free Keyword Suggestion Tool you can use http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

Now that you have some Keywords Picked out you can use either of these free Online Tools to help you find that perfect Domain Name

http://www.nameboy.com/
http://www.domaininformer.com/tools/

Some suggestions for our Debt Reduction theme is

DebtDispatch.com

Debt-be-Gone.com

Debt-No-More.com

DebtNoMore.com

Step 3 Register Your Domain

Before you can Register your Domain name you need to make sure it is still available. You can go to the following Whois Server to see if your domain is taken: http://www.internic.net/whois.html
You would simply type in one of the names from step 2 like DebtDispatch.com and see if it’s available.

Once you have found that Perfect Domain Name and verified it is indeed available Internic has a List of approved Internet Registrars Here:http://www.internic.net/regist.html

You will notice that the List of Registrars is Long and confusing, A very Popular one is Goddaddy.com Their Pricing is very reasonable and they have a great reputation. Nameboy and Domaininformer from step 2 will also register your Domains.

Host Your Domain

Now All that is left is to host your Domain. There are hundreds of Web Hosts available some good and some not so good. It is really hard to know which ones to use. Findmyhosting.com has a Web Hosting rating service where users rate Web Hosts. They also Tell you the Up time History of your Web Hosts.
Pick your Host Carefully. You may want to ask some of your friends and Associates which Hosts They use.

Now anytime you want a New Home on the Web Just follow this simple 3 Step System.

This article shows how to buy a good domain and drives home the point about owning good domain names. This is a good long term as well short term investment.

Domain names are not just online identities anymore they are the most important asset an online company owns. There are businesses being spun out because the owner stumbled on a good domain name. These folks are minting money like hell that they use this revenue to build more and better businesses. Have you invested in stocks and found that a small bad news would completely change the value of the stock? Rather invest in online domain names they are relatively easy to acquire and maintain. The initial acquisition cost is sometimes high but most often in the right hands this will be gold mines that can bring in 10 times more revenue per year than the initial investment each year. Have you owned real estate property as investments? You know that their value goes up slowly but surely. The domain names are similar to the land you buy, you can change the home you build on top as many times while the land value goes up. Acquiring land is important like that the domain names are important to buy when one good one becomes available. For example patriotism is a good theme and it is evergreen, owning a domain name that deals with patriotism it is a good investment. Like this there are many common themes that you can invest on which are long term great investments.

There are many ways where you can go to find good domain names that come for sale like afternic. But you got to constantly look for the good ones. More so often the owners don’t want to reveal that their domain name is for sale. So you got to maintain a lot of contacts who can bring you the news about the great domain names for sale. When you buy the domain names, be sure to transfer the name immediately and create a website for it. You can park these domain names and make more money through redirect traffic as well. Don’t pay the asking price try to get more details on how long the person has owned the website and whether it is listed in a blacklist. This is critical blacklisted domains are cheaper as they take time to heal. Also you may don’t want to miss out the domain names which have good websites that has been drawing traffic. The other important factor to look for is the pagerank of the website the higher the PR the more valuable the domain name is. You may also want to make sure they are listed in search engines. This will ensure you can have some good free traffic while you work on the business model.

There are many additional factors that determine the value of the domain. But there is the additional perceived value for a domain name that when factored in will either diminishes or increase the value. The rough equation for looking for domain value is

(Domain Name quality) + Page Rank + SERP + (perceived value) + current relevance

You got to understand the last factor as well. The domain name may be a hot cake now or in some yesteryear and the search engines give it good placement for keywords for thing that were popular like John Kerry a few years back now it doesn’t have value. So make calculated judgment and be a good businessperson while negotiating. Take into consideration how important the domain name is for your long term business aspirations and its short term value. You should also take into consideration the investment potential.

One example of a great domain name that is for sale on the Patriotic theme is patriotic.com. You can find similar dictionary domain names rarely but look out on the Internet for great domain names like this.

Are you getting ready to launch a new website online with a brand new domain name? You may want to consider registering a deleted domain name instead. Here are some of the benefits to consider from this strategy.

Take advantage of previous backlinks

Quite a few deleted domain names still have a large number of websites still linking to them even though the site at that domain is offline. By registering that abandoned domain name for yourself , uploading content, and getting it live again, you can take advantage of these ready made backlinks in your quest for higher search engine rankings.

Get traffic to your site from day one!

When you register a deleted domain name, you can sometimes get traffic that was going to the old site at that domain name right from the day one of being online. This traffic will come from the backlinks, possibly some search engines that still have old pages ranked, and some people who had the domain bookmarked in their favorites and come back weeks or months later.

Do your research though

There can be potential problems with deleted domain names that is too involved to go in here. One thing I would suggest though is to do your due diligence and make sure that the deleted domain name will suit your purposes.

Registering deleted domain names is only one of many strategies out there to boost traffic to new websites. Some people will register a large number of the best deleted domain names they can find, slap a few articles on it then wait and watch to see which ones ‘stick’. Others will carefully research the deleted domains and only choose ones that have a completely clean past.

Whatever you do, choose a domain that is focused on your main keyword and topic. Registering a domain with the keyword ‘healthinsurance’ for a free internet gaming site only invites problems with the major search engines. Stick to relevant keywords for the domain names.

Any way you look at it though, deleted domains are worth a look.
